SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy

Benha University aims to achieve this goal through the axis of renewable and sustainable energy and how to optimally use it. That is included in the university’s research plan, out of belief in the university’s role in community service and scientific research to achieve sustainable development.

This will be achieved by:

  1. The university adopts a lot of research and projects on waste recycling and how to benefit from it.
  2. Educating students, faculty, and administrators about the importance and benefits of preserving waste and how to recycle it.
  3. Spreading the concept of environmental conservation on campus.
  4. Waste recycling project (plant - animal) at the College of Agriculture in Mashtohour.
  5. Biogas production unit at the Faculty of Agriculture in Mashtohour.
  6. Biodiesel production unit at the Faculty of Engineering in Shubra.
  7. Periodic monitoring of waste bins on campus.
  8. The Environmental Committee in the university colleges to discuss issues and files related to the environment, how to preserve it, and rotate jurors.
  9. Scientific committee of the student union for awareness and guidance of students.
  10. The community service and environmental development sector at the university organizes educational seminars for the sake of the environmental awareness.
  11. Creating new and distinctive programs for undergraduate and graduate students in university colleges that are concerned with issues of renewable energy, waste recycling, and resource management.
