SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
The university plays an active role in developing its self-resources and optimizing the use of natural and human resources, infrastructure, and research projects in various fields to reduce consumption, increase production, and recycle waste for the production of animal feed, organic fertilizers, and eco-friendly energy. Additionally, the university ensures safe disposal of waste to protect the environment from pollution and reduce plastic use.
The university also emphasizes the importance of encouraging various industries, ensuring food quality and safety, supporting diverse businesses, and promoting the university's procurement policies and green economy as a tool for sustainable development.
This is achieved through:

- The Compost Production Unit at the Faculty of Agriculture in Moshtohor

- Establishing a Center of Excellence for Environmental Pollutants Survey in food and water at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Moshtohor
- The "Enactus Benha" initiative, the university's first youth initiative to recycle plastic waste
- The Recycling Workshop for wood waste and scraps in Kafr Saad
